Zero: Love Inspired Ambient Works (2025)

Heat and Heartbreak

Anyone who knows me personally will know I love ambient music. It stems from my fascination with music as a cinematic vehicle; I have always loved music that functions as a soundtrack, and I suppose that is exactly what I try to convey in every single piece of music I make.

As a kid, I was deeply inspired by composers like Vangelis. Even now, I feel most whole when I am fully behind a project that I can completely visualise, breathe, and inhabit.

Zero: Love Inspired Ambient Works was only compiled into an EP and named sixteen years after it was recorded.

I distinctly remember writing it while away on holiday. I’d learnt on the first day there that my girlfriend at the time had kissed someone else, and I was feeling all kinds of adolescent darkness in the heat. I had recently downloaded Logic and decided to play without any expectations. That headspace is how this selection of songs - this EP - was born.

To this day, I still feel that what I created back then was deeply visceral.

I don’t entirely know why I chose to release it when I did. Maybe I’m just starting to care less about things being "finished" or "perfect."
